Greetings from the Oysterman
Hi everyone. Well, Spring is here and it is a time of renewal and rebirth. I am glad that some form of health care has been enacted (rebirth) and that I will be seeing many of you as my events calendar is beginning to fill in for the Spring and Summer months (renewal). There are many cool old and new events to look forward to. The Governor's party will be in Aptos this year. That one is a great way to end my academic school year. I am doing more events at wineries (Miner Family Winery; Alpha Omega; Windy Oaks; Beauregard; Clos LaChance), which is an area of my business that I am trying to further develop. I am always looking to the Jazz in the Plaza series where we raise money for charity while having a great time listening to music in the park with friends and family. I will be at the High Sierra Music Festival this year for their 20th anniversary of celebrating music and the culture of the true Northern California. I will be helping host a party for some crazy guys from around the country who will be skateboarding from one Santa Cruz Mountain winery to another only to end up camping near Capitola and enjoying oysters to the sound of a ukelele band at sunset. Many years ago I told two of my customers they were going to marry someday (they are so in love), which they vehemently denied. Earlier this year the man came to me to show me the ring and asked his love to marry him while cruising in the Carribbean. We reenacted the wedding recently and served many an oyster to his guests, including some of the local judges, who I said I was glad I had never met them at their work.

Personally, I am doing well. Getting healthier (smaller) and really enjoying my life. I have been playing music and will probably play at the (lack of) talent show at my high school ( a repeat performance) with some teachers but also with some young students who I have been teaching to play. (It comes full circle my musical muse Tim) I am planning to visit Portland at the end of July and early August to see my friend Mario (high school) and Bev (college). My family is well (julia - LA - bookstore & Anne - UCSC). I hope to see you all in these times of celebration and friendship. Come to the porch at Hannegan's, bring a pan to pound on and let's sing and dance and celebrate this heaven we live in.
